The Engadget Show 32: ASUS, Huawei and a trip to Asia's gadget markets
Yep, we went way out for April's Engadget Show, taking our film crew to Asia this time out, to check out the markets of Taipei, Hong Kong and Shenzhen with our very own Richard Lai. We also scored interviews with Huawei's Chief of Design, Hagen Fendler and Michelle Hsiao of the ASUS Design Center. We'll be checking out the month's latest and greatest gadgets, including the HTC One X, S and V, Nokia Lumia 900 and the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight, as well as a big ole pile of KIRFs -- some more convincing than others. We've also got a couple of performances by Brooklyn indie rockers Suckers and a whole bunch more.
Hosts: Tim Stevens, Brian Heater
Guests: Hagen Fendler (Huawei), Michelle Hsiao (ASUS), Richard Lai, Guy Streit
Producer: Guy Streit
Director: Michelle Stahl
Executive Producers: Brian Heater, Joshua Fruhlinger and Michael Rubens

Amped Wireless releases two new USB adapters to cure internet blackspots (video)
Is your computer positioned just that little bit too far away from your home router to get consistent internet access? Amped Wireless is here for you with a pair of USB adapters that promise you'll never have to tilt your machine to maintain signal again. The UA1000 pushes out 500mW of power over the 2.4GHz band, will clip to your laptop screen and, if you connect it to two USB ports instead of one it'll be even more powerful. Meanwhile, the UA2000 can switch between its high-range 2.4GHz and low-interference 5.0GHz radios to ensure the best reception in the darkest corners of your home or office. The former will set you back $80 while its dual-band cousin retails at $100 and you can pre-order both from today.

BlackBerry Playbook joins the Angry Birds Space bandwagon
To the surprise of no one, Angry Birds Space has ballooned into a casual gaming phenomenon -- a feat that Rovio has somehow managed without the aid of a BlackBerry PlayBook audience. RIM announced today, however, that fans of its deeply discounted tablet can now hop on board the train to space pig payback, for the low, low price of $3, that is, unless you're saving up for that 4G version we've been hearing about...

As Pinterest?s Hype Peaks, Growth May Be Slowing
Pinterest has been on a hot streak this year. Or should we say hype streak?
In February, comScore reported that the site had passed 10 million monthly unique users faster than any standalone site ever. Then we started to hear from sources on Sand Hill that the company has attracted interest at a $1 billion valuation. But numbers from third-party sources like Facebook app tracking service, AppData, are pinning a slightly different picture on the image and link-sharing site.

Mexico's 'smoking mountain' lives up to its name (+video)
Mexican officials have raised the alert level for the volcano, Popocat?petl, as it spews ash and steam into the air and onto nearby communities.
Mexico's Popocat?petl, North America's second largest volcano, is acting up.
Skip to next paragraphBeginning?Monday, red-hot rock, ash, and steam have begun spewing from the volcano a half-mile into the sky.?In response, Mexico's National Disaster Prevention Centre raised their alert level to stage five (out of seven). ?Several schools have closed and local officials have readied emergency shelters.
Popocat?petl belongs to the group of stratovolcanos, otherwise known as composite volcanoes, which also includes the likes of Mount Shasta in California and Mount St. Helens in Washington.
In general, stratovolcanos are large, steep-sided, symmetrical cones composed of "alternating layers of lava flows, volcanic ash, cinders, blocks, and bombs," according to the US Geologic Survey.
Popocat?petl is 17,900-feet tall, glacier-clad and contains a steep-walled, 800-1,500-foot-deep crater.?Its name means "smoking mountain" in Nahuatl, the region's indigenous language.
Hazards created by volcanic activity like this may include ash, lahars, and pyroclastic flows. Lahars are mudflows created by water mixing with volcanic materials like ash, while pyroclastic flows are caused by superheated gas combined with rock. Pyroclastic flows are relatively rare at Popocat?petl, however.
More than 30 million people live within view of the volcano. It sits about 40 miles southeast of Mexico City, and is visible from the capital on a clear day.?
During the last major eruption of Popocat?petl in 2000, more than 50,000 people were evacuated.
